Mouth Watering Madurai Special Kari Dosa / Mutton Dosa


Kari Dosa is very famous in Madurai. We tasted it in Simmakkal Konar Kadai. This is mouth watering recipe. My native is Madurai. We frequently tastes it in  konar kadai, I just tried it in my home. It comes out very well.  Try this recipe in your home too....

Ingredients:
  • Dosa Batter - As needed
  • Egg - 3
  • Pepper powder - 1 tsp
  • Coriander Leaves- 1/2 handful ( finely chopped)
  • Oil - As needed
For Mutton Stuffing:
  • Minced mutton/Kothu kari - 300 gm
  • Ginger Garlic Paste- 1 tsp
  • Big Onion - 1 (chopped)
  • Tomato - 1 ( Chopped)
  • Red chili powder - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • Garam Masala - 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds powder - 1 tsp
  • fennel seeds - 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Oil - As needed
  • Salt - As needed
Method:
Step 1:
  • Take a Pressure cooker, Add Minced mutton, turmeric powder, salt, water, pressure cook for 4 whistles.
  • Heat oil in a pan, Add mustard seeds, Fennel seeds, allow it to splutter.
  • Add chopped onion, fry until it turns golden. Add ginger garlic paste, fry until the raw smell goes up.
  • Add chopped tomato, mash well, Add red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, cumin powder, one by one, and mix well.
  • Now add the cooked mutton along with water in the pan, Mix well with the masala, keep the flame in medium, until it comes to gravy consistency.
  • Mutton gravy is ready now. 
Step 2:
  • Crack egg in a bowl, season with pepper. Whip till mixed. keep aside.
  • Heat dosa tawa, pour small dosa, spoon some egg mix over it, drizzle oil over it and top with mutton gravy and coriander leaves.  Cook till bottom crisp up.
  • Flip over and cook for a min.
  • Now Kari dosa is ready.
Notes
  • Don't add more water for pressure cooking mutton.
  • The gravy should be like mutton chukka consistency. If it is more watery then dosa will not be good.
