Raw Onion Chutney
Raw onion chutney is a very simple and tasty side dish, which we can prepare in 5 mins. This will be very helpful for quick breakfast. Moreover onions are rich in antioxidant compounds that are very effective in neutralizing the free radicals present in the human body.Onions have many valuable medicinal applications because it acts as a rich source of nutrients, vitamins, minerals, and organic compounds.It fights against cancer, Helps to lower sugar levels and promotes respiratory health.
- Small Onion - 10 nos
- Medium Size Tomato - 2 (Chopped)
- Red Chili - 6 (Adjust as per your taste)
- Sesame Oil - As needed
- Salt - As needed
- Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
- Curry leaves - 1 Sprig
Method:
- Take a Mixer/ Blender, Add Small onion, Chopped tomatoes, red chili, salt, Grind it as a smooth paste. Transfer it to a bowl.
- Heat oil in a pan, Add mustard seeds, curry leaves one by one, Allow it to splutter. Pour it over the chutney bowl. Mix well.
- Serve with Idly , Dosa, Uthappam...
Notes
- Careful with the proportion of onion and tomatoes. If quantity of onion increases than tomato, Chutney will not tastes good.
- Instead of adding tomatoes you can add tamarind.
- You can also add garlic cloves - 2 nos, with it.
- You can refrigerate it for 2 days.
