Easy & Tasty Chutney Recipes - Chili Garlic Chutney

Mouth watering Chili Garlic Chutney



 Garlic is one of the best infection fighters available for both bacterial and viral infections. It is a natural antibiotic that does not appear to create resistant bacteria strains. Garlic is low in calories and rich in vitamin C, vitamin B6 and manganese. It also contains trace amounts of various other nutrients. Garlic supplements help prevent and reduce the severity of common illnesses like the flu and common cold.

Ingredients
  • Garlic Cloves - 20
  • Small Onion - 5 (optional)
  • Red chili - 10
  • Tamarind - 1 tsp
  • Curry Leaves - 1 sprig
  • Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
  • Gingelly oil / Sesame Oil - 4 tsp + 1 tsp

Method:
  • Heat 1 tsp of Gingelly oil in a pan , Add Red chilies, Garlic cloves, small onion, fry till the garlic and onion turns little golden.
  • Add tamarind, Mix well. 
  • Allow it to cool completely, Take a mixer, Add the fried ingredients, Salt, little water, Grind as a smooth paste.
  • Heat 4 tsp of gingelly oil in a pan, Add mustard seeds, Curry leaves, Allow it to splutter.
  • Now add the grinded paste in the pan, Mix well, Cook until the oil floats on top.
  • Serve with Idly, Dosa, Uthappam, Paniyaram....
Notes
  • Adding Onion is optional, But it gives different taste
  • Some people do this chutney by using all the ingredients as raw. But the raw smell of garlic will not be liked by all people.
  • You can also use Kashmiri chilies instead of using Red chilies. IT gives excellent colour.
