Raw Mango Rice / Mangai Sadam

Ingredients
- Cooked Rice - 3 cup
- Grated Raw Mango - 1 Cup
- Red chili - 5
- Curry leaves - 1 Spring
- Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
- Salt - As needed
- Oil - As needed
- Peanuts - 1/4 Cup
- Channa Dal - 2 tsp
- Hing - A pinch
Step 1:
- Cook rice as you do regularly, But do not make mushy, Spread it in a plate allow it to cool.
- Wash, peel and grate raw mangoes.
- Heat oil in a pan, Add Mustard seeds, curry leaves one by one, Allow it to splutter.
- Add Channa Dal, Hing, Red chilies, peanuts, Turmeric powder, Fry gently in a low flame. Don't burn the peanuts.
- Add grated mangoes, Salt , mix well , Cook for 2- 3 mins, Switch off the flame.
Step 2:
- Add cooked rice and mix gently using a fork taking care not to break the rice. Check for salt, add if required.
- Serve hot with Papads...
Notes
- You can add green chilies instead of red chilies.
- You can also add cashews along with peanuts.
- The cooked rice should not be mushy.
