Ganesh Chaturthi Special - Easy Sweet Pidi Kolukattai

- Rice Flour - 1/2 Cup
- Grated Jaggery - 1/4 Cup
- Water - 1 Cup ( or As needed)
- Cardamom powder - 1 tsp
- Chopped Coconut - 3 tsp
- Sesame oil - 1 tsp
- Salt - As needed
Method:
Step 1:
- Heat a pan, Add grated jaggery, Water, Mix well. Once it gets dissolved, Add cardamom powder, coconut, allow it to boil.
- Keep low flame, Add flour and keep stirring. Don’t worry if it forms lumps, it will disappear as we mix.
- Cool it and when it is still warm, grease your hands and make a smooth dough out of it. Divide into equal sized balls.
- Take small portion and keep it in your palm, and press slightly. Then the shape will come.
- Arrange in the steamer or idly plate.
- Steam cook for 10 mins, Now it is ready.
Notes
- After the dough is ready, keep covered to avoid drying
- If you use more jaggery than mentioned and less water, it wont get steamed properly how much ever time you cook it.
- Also do not let the jaggery for syrup stage as it will not let the flour cook and again it wont get cooked even after you steam for long time.
- Kolukattai turns shiny when it is cooked.
