Sweet Pumpkin Halwa / Sakkarai Poosanikai Halwa

        Usually we do Halwa with carrot or bread. But this is Pumpkin Halwa which is to be done by yellow pumpkin. It will be more tasty and yummy than any other halwa.  It is very good for Heart.  The fiberpotassium, and vitamin C content in pumpkin all support heart health. Studies suggest that consuming enough potassium may be almost as important as decreasing sodium intake for the treatment of hypertension, or high blood pressure.


Ingredients
  • Grated Pumpkin - 2 Cups
  • Milk - 1 Cup
  • Sugar - 1 Cup
  • Ghee - As needed
  • Almonds - 2 tsp
  • Raisins - 2- 3 tsp
  • Cashews - 3 tsp
  • Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
Method:
Step 1:
  • Heat ghee in a pan, Add grated pumpkin in it, saute it in low flame until the raw smell goes up.
  • Add milk in it, Keep stirring until milk absorbs by pumpkin. 
  • Now add Sugar, Mix well until you get halwa consistency.
  • Add cardamom powder, mix well for 2 mins.
  • Meanwhile heat ghee (1 tsp) in a pan, Add almonds, raisins, cashews, roast it in a low flame.
  • Add the fried Almonds, cashew nuts & raisins in the Halwa, mix well, Switch off the flame
  • Serve Hot and Enjoy.
Notes
  • You can also use condensed milk or Sweet-less Khoya instead of using milk.
  • Ensure the entire recipe should be done in low flame. 
  • Adjust sugar according to your taste.
  • If you want your Halwa more colourful, You can add a pinch of food colour in it.
