Milk Burfi / Milk Powder Burfi

Milk is having high content of Calcium which Builds healthy bones and teeth; maintains bone mass.It is also rich in protein serves as a source of energy; builds/repairs muscle tissue. It helps maintain a healthy blood pressure.It is perfect for festivals like rakhi, deepavali and ganesh chaturthi which can be prepared within 15 minutes. Milk burfi  are very common in my house. It is very tasty like Milk Kova. 

Ingredients
  • Ghee - ¼ cup
  • Milk - 1 cup 
  • Milk powder/ Dry Milk Powder - 2 Cup
  • Sugar - 1 Cup
  • Cardamom powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Almonds chopped - 2 tsp
  • Pistachios chopped - 2 tsp
Method
Step 1:
  • Heat Ghee in a large Kadai, Add Milk, Milk Powder, Keep in a low flame.
  • Add Sugar in it, mix well making sure everything is combined well, 
  • Stir continuously keeping the flame on low and no lumps formed.
  • Stir well until sugar dissolves and the Milk gets thicken.
  • Milk forms dough after stirring for 10 minutes and it separates from Kadai.
Step 2:
  • Add Cardamom Powder, Mix well
  • Transfer it to a grease pan or greased plate lined with baking paper.
  • Set well forming a block and topup with almonds and pistachios.
  • Allow it to completely cool or till it sets completely.
  • Cut into pieces and Serve.
Notes
  • You can adjust sugar to your taste.
  • Do not over cook, as the burfi turns chewy.
  • Prepare the burfi on low  flame, else the milk powder burns.
  • Milk powder burfi stays good for 2 weeks when refrigerated, Keep it in a airtight container.
