Easy & Tasty Bread Halwa

Bread Halwa is a very simple and easy dessert, Which is very tasteful. I usually do this whenever my family is in festival mood. My Husband really love this Halwa. For good amount of Halwa we just need only  few slices of bread.

Ingredients
  • Bread Pieces - 6
  • Sugar – 1/2 cup 
  • Milk – 2 cups
  • Ghee – 1/2 cup + 2 tsp
  • Cashews - 10
  • Raisins - 9
  • Cardamom Powder – 1/2 tsp
Method:
Step 1:
  • Trim the edges of the bread slices, Keep aside.
  • Cut the bread slices to tiny pieces
  • Heat 1/2 cup of Ghee in a kadai, Add Cashews, Raisins one by one, Fry golden, remove it, Keep aside.
  • Add chopped bread in the ghee and fry till golden in a low flame.
  • Mean while, boil milk with sugar. Add it to the roasted bread.
  • Allow it to boil, cook for few minutes, until it turns soft.
  • Keep mixing mashing it well until oil oozes out. It will turns thicken as halwa consistency, Keep the flame in low.
  • Add 2 tsp of ghee,cashews, raisins, cardamom powder and mix well.
  • Bread Halwa ready.
Notes
  • You can use milk bread or normal bread.
  • You can refrigerate it and reheat when ever needed. You can keep it maximum 3 days in fridge.
  • Do not turn the bread pieces in dark colour.
  • Make sure the entire process in low / medium flame.
  • Adjust sugar to your taste.
