Potato Masala

- Boiled Potato - 1 Cup
- Chopped Onion - 1/2 cup
- Ginger - 1 Small Pieces (Chopped)
- Green Chilly - 3 - 4 (Sliced)
- Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
- Curry leaves - As needed
- Salt - As needed
- Gram Flour- 1 tsp
- Oil - AS needed
- Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
Method
Step 1:
- Peel the skin and Cut the boiled potato into pieces or Mash it into small pieces, Keep aside
- Heat oil in a kadai, Add Mustard seeds, Curry leaves, Allow it to sizzle
- Add chopped onion, Fry it until it turns golden.
- Add chopped ginger, Green chilly, fry it well.
- Add turmeric powder, Salt in it, Mix well, Add mashed potato in it.
- Pour some water in it Cover it with a lid, allow it to cook for 3 Mins.
- Take a bowl, Add Gram Flour and Water, Mix well as a watery consistency without lumps.
- Now open the lid, Add watery Gram flour in it, Mix Well without lumps
- Continue to boil for 10 minutes in medium flame or until the masala gets thick in consistency.
Notes
- For Boiling the potato, Wash and cut potatoes into 4, Add some turmeric and pressure cook for 3 whistles with little water.
- My chillies were spicy, so added 4, if not, add more, otherwise the masala will be bland
- If you want the masala in a watery consistency you can add some more gram flour.
- You can also add carrot, Peas like vegetables in it.
- You can serve it for Puri, Chapati...
