Tasty Peas Pulao

Peas Pulao

Ingredients:
  • Frozen / Fresh Peas - 1 cup
  • Basmati Rice  - 1 cup
  • Ghee/ oil -3 tsp
  • Salt - as needed
  • Mint Leaves - 1 handful
  • Coriander Leaves - 1/2 handful
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
  • Chopped big onion - 2 onions
  • Chopped tomato -  1
  • Green Chilies - 2 to 3
  • cinnamon stick - 1
  • Cloves - 2
  • Fennel Seeds - 2 tsp
  • Bay Leaf - 1 
Method:

Step 1:
  • Wash and soak rice for 30 Minutes and drain water, Keep aside.  
  • Take a Mixer add mint leaves, coriander leaves, green chilies, fennel seeds, grind it and keep aside.
Step 2:
  • Take a pressure cooker, add oil/ghee, allow to heat
  • Add cinnamon stick, bay leaf, cloves saute saute till they turn aromatic.
  • Add onions and fry till they turn golden.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and fry until raw smell goes off
  • Add tomato and mash up, Add grind-ed mint leaves, coriander leaves, green chilies, fennel seeds into it, fry until raw smell goes off.
  • Add Peas and mix well, Add Rice into it.
  • Now add 1.5 cups of water,  Add Salt.
  • Pressure cook for 2 whistles. once the pressure releases from the cooker, gently fluff.
Notes
  • You can use mint leaves, coriander leaves, green chilies, fennel seeds directly without grinding, But if you use it as grind-ed paste, it will smells excellent
  • You can use normal boiled rice which is usually used for meals instead of Basmati rice. For using 1 cup boiled rice add 2 cups of water, allow extra whistles.
  • You can use Dried peas instead of  fresh peas, But for using dried peas, you have to soak it for minimum 4 hrs before cooking.
