IDLY MILAGAI PODI
(Urad Dal with Skin)


Ingredients:
  • Splitted urad dal with skin - 250 gms
  • Red chilli - 25 pieces
  • Chana dal - 100 gms
  • Asafoetida - 5 tsp
  • Garlic - 5 pieces
  • Black Sesame seeds - 100 gms
  • Curry leaves - as needed
  • Salt - As needed
Method:
Step 1:
  • Heat Kadai and Dry roast splitted urad dal,chana dal, red chillies and garlic, one by one separately and keep it in a bowl
  • To the same pan, dry roast Black Sesame seeds separately and keep it in a bowl.
  • To the same pan add curry leaves and roast it in a low flame until it turns crisp.
  • Keep the roasted items aside to reduce heat.
Step 2:
  • Take a Mixer jar, Grind red chillies first. 
  • Add the asafoetida and roasted items except Black Sesame Seeds in the same jar for grinding.
  • Lastly add Black Sesame Seeds and salt for grinding.

Notes
  • Dry roast all items in a low flame.
  • Don't use oil for roasting.
  • For Excellent Flavour Don't over grind Black Sesame Seeds.
  • After Grinding Keep the powder in a airtight container.
