Tasty Mutton Kulambu/ Lamb Curry

- Mutton - 1/2 kg
- Chopped Onion - 1/2 Cup
- Tomato - 1 (chopped)
- Ginger Garlic paste - 2 tsp
- Bay Leaf - 1
- Cloves - 3
- Cinnamon - 1/2 inch piece
- Fennel seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
- Chilli powder - 2 tsp
- Coriander powder - 2 tsp
- Garam/ Curry Masala - 1 tsp (Click Here for Curry Masala)
- Oil - As needed
- Salt - As needed
To Grind:
- Coconut - 1/2 Cup
- Small Onion - 4 to 5 Pieces
- Fennel Seeds - 1 tsp
- Cashew - 2
Method:
Step 1:
- Clean the mutton pieces, Add Turmeric powder in it, Mix well and Keep aside.
- Take a Mixer, Add coconut, small onion, fennel seeds, cashew, grind it as a fine paste, keep aside.
Step 2:
- Heat oil in a cooker, Add Bay leaf, Cloves, Cinnamon, Fennel seeds, allow it for seasoning.
- Add Chopped onion, Fry until it turns golden, Add Ginger garlic paste, mix well until the raw smell goes up.
- Add chopped tomato, mash well. Now add the mutton pieces in it. Mix well until the water inside the mutton goes up.
- Add Salt, chilli powder, coriander powder, garam/curry masala one by one and mix well.
- Add enough water, pressure cook for 5 whistles.once the pressure releases from the cooker, Open it.
- Now add the grinded smooth paste in the cooker,Mix well and bring into boil, keep the flame in low, until the oil floats on the top.
- switch off the flame.Tasty Mutton Kulambu is ready to serve
Notes
- You can pressure cook for some more whistles if the mutton is not cooked.
- You can add potato pieces in mutton before pressure cooking. It will gives a different taste.
