Simple Tiffin Sambar without Dal

Ingredients:
  • Chopped Onion - 1/2 cup
  • Tomato - 2 (Chopped)
  • Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
  • Cumin - 1/2 tsp
  • Gram Flour- 2 tsp (Click Here)
  • Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
  • Oil - As needed
  • Salt - As needed
  • Green Chilli - 3 (Chopped)
  • Curry leaves- As needed
  • Chopped Coriander leaves- As needed 
  • Chana Dal - 1 tsp
Method:
Step 1:
  • Take a bowl, Add Gram Flour and Water, Mix well as a watery consistency, Keep aside.
  •  Heat oil in kadai, Add Mustard seeds, Cumin, Curry leaves one by one, Allow it to sizzle.
  • Add Chana Dal in it fry until the colour slightly changes
  • Add chopped onion, fry until it turns golden.
  • Add chopped tomato, mash well, Add Green Chilli, turmeric powder, salt, Mix well.
Step 2:
  • Add 1 cup of water  into it, Allow it to boil.
  • Now add watery gram flour in it, Mix well without lumps.
  • Add some more water, Cover the lid cook for 5 to 8 mins.
  • Add Chopped coriander leaves, Switch off the flame.
Notes
  • You can add Carrot or Brinjal like vegetables in it before adding gram flour.
  • This sambar is very tasty for Idli, Dosa.
  • You can use Small onion for extra taste.
